Rockford Area

Our unique community begins with its location. While Peterson Meadows has that neighborhood feeling, it is not far from downtown Rockford. Take a short drive (or take our shuttle bus) from Peterson Meadows and you will find yourself in the midst of cultural, recreational and shopping opportunities.

Performing Arts:
Rockford has a number of professional performing art groups, theaters and other facilities. The historic Coronado Performing Arts Center, which hosts numerous cultural events, is only a 15-minute drive away.

The Starlight Theater is the area’s oldest outdoor summer theatre with four musical productions in June and July. Starlight has been named one of Illinois’ 150 Great Places by the Illinois Council of American Institute of Architects.

Golf
If you have a passion for golf, Rockford is an ideal place for you. The Rockford area has 10 top-quality courses, along with numerous other nearby courses. Golf Digest has ranked Rockford “number one” for mid-sized U.S. cities for the excellence of its public golf courses.

Shopping
Less than two miles from Peterson Meadows is CherryVale Mall, Rockford’s largest shopping center. CherryVale Mall has more than 130 stores and 18 dining establishments. Traveling in the opposite direction, Antiques on East State is an antique mall and consignment store with more than 90 dealers and is also located two miles from Peterson Meadows. In addition, many other stores and restaurants are located nearby.

Hospitals
Within a 10 mile radius of Peterson Meadows are Swedish American Hospital, Saint Anthony Medical Center and Rockford Memorial Hospital, as well as many clinics throughout the area.
